On the Bus: Homeless Man with a Hat (ca. 02-09)
I like the way he looks from under the rim of his hat.
Your homeless man is wonderful. Makes me want to take the bus somewhere with a pad and pencil in hand to sketch the beautiful people there.
I was at Barnes & Noble the other day and I perused a copy of "Drawing is Writing" by Milton Glaser. Looking at your 'about me' it struck me that you think quite deeply. You have learned how to use more. Efficiency! For me, the art (mostly collage) comes first and then the writing sort of follows as a natural byproduct.
It's probably one of my best recent drawings, and I think that is because, as you point out, I happened to capture something of the man's personality, that little something that makes the drawing "alive."
